New allegations have emerged against Malayalam actor Jayaram, with the sister of producer Haseeb accusing him of betrayal and negligence. Usha Haseena released voice recordings and stated that Jayaram promised to support Haseeb’s film project to launch his son Kalidas, but abandoned him after the movie failed.
According to Usha, Haseeb invested heavily in ‘Happy Sardar’ based on Jayaram’s word. When the film flopped, Jayaram stopped communicating. Even after Haseeb suffered a stroke, Jayaram did not visit him, only sending a voice message expressing ignorance of the situation. Usha claims that Jayaram never followed up despite promising to meet.
This is not the first controversy for Jayaram. He recently faced ridicule for changing his story about missing the climax scene of the 2020 film ‘Twenty Twenty’. Initially he said he skipped it for Sabarimala, but later claimed it was for Diwali. Critics have pointed out these contradictions as evidence of dishonesty.
In his defense, Jayaram said in interviews that his humble demeanor is natural and not an act. He acknowledged that he has made mistakes in the past and expressed inability to change his nature. He also spoke about his passion for elephants, noting that he can identify individual elephants from their appearance, a skill he developed growing up near Koottanad.
